Bench to Bed

Sources and methods

The benchtobed site aggregates news from published feeds and indexes of specialist news publications covering medical research and clinical trials. These sources focus on the study and the trial, specifically what was tested, in whom, and what it showed. Every story we process originates from these established publications.

Each news story is summarised and rewritten with automated assistance to extract and highlight the core factual findings of the research. The original publication is always credited as the source. If a factual claim, such as a specific trial result, appears in only one publication, it is clearly noted as such within the story's text to provide context on its verification.

The site's reference pages, such as those for a specific trial, drug, or research organisation, are built from stable, confirmed facts. These are presented in a structured facts table and accompanied by a credited photograph where available. These pages synthesise information from multiple reliable sources to create a single, coherent overview of the topic.

Coverage of ongoing news is refreshed continuously as new information is published by our source outlets. The reference pages are reviewed and updated on a regular schedule to incorporate new developments, significant study results, or changes in regulatory status, ensuring they remain current and accurate.
